ISQIC January Kick-Off Meeting!

The Illinois Surgical Quality Improvement Collaborative (ISQIC) is a partnership of Illinois hospitals, the Illinois and Metropolitan Chicago Chapters of the American College of Surgeons, and the Surgical Outcomes and Quality Improvement Center (SOQIC). ISQIC was initiated on September 1, 2014, and to date, there are 55 member hospitals performing 80% of complex surgery. Our mission is to work together to improve the quality of surgical care in Illinois.
Participating hospitals are given detailed data regarding their performance compared to other Illinois hospitals, along with the tools to enact meaningful improvements when they identify problem areas. By combining empirical data about hospital performance and the 20 novel ISQIC initiatives to spur quality improvement, hospitals have successfully used data to improve adherence to best practices, decrease complication rates dramatically, and demonstrate cost savings.
Message from the Director

Karl Y. Bilimoria, MD MS
