Amy L. Halverson, MD, MHPE
Faculty Small Rural CQIP Leader
Dr. Halverson is Professor of Surgery and Medical Education, Vice Chair of Education in the Department of Surgery and a colon and rectal surgeon. She has led workshops teaching the use of evidence-based tools aimed at optimizing patient outcomes by improving communication and teamwork skills both at the local and national levels. Dr. Halverson is particularly interested in surgical care delivered in small and rural areas and has worked with ISQIC small rural hospitals to implement quality improvement initiatives unique to those areas. She is also Clerkship Director and mentors medical students and others on a regular basis.
